Sports At Its Finest

by Bennett and Emilio

As sports fans we understand that these times can be boring. This sports page is here to brighten your day and make you remember the good old days when sports games were not every night. Now sit back, relax, and enjoy some highlights.

Malcolm Butler Interception

The end of Super Bowl 49 seemed to be drawing to a close as the Seahawks marched down the field. Wilson threw an amazing bomb to Kearse who bobbled the ball and caught it just outside the 5-yard line. Patriots fans began leaving the stadium and the team giving up hope because everyone thought the game was over. The next play Pete Carroll set up a screen which was read perfectly by the patriots D-back Malcolm Butler, who jumped the pass intercepting the ball and winning the Super Bowl.

Roger Federer Between The Legs

During the semi-final match of the 2009 Men’s US Open Tournament, Roger Federer was matched up against rising star Novak Djokovic. Djokovic was loosing bad, but Federer just managed to turn up the heat with a shot that hadn’t been seen before. During a play in the last set, Roger went up to the net attempting to hit a volley off of Djokovic’s next shot. Djokovic predicted Federer’s move and lobed the ball far over his head. Federer chased the ball down but couldn’t manage to get behind it. Roger then smacked the ball between his legs crosscourt for a winner.

43 points, 4 dribbles

Klay Thompson made history in a game against the Knicks last season when he scored 43 points with only 4 dribbles! The whole night Klay was catching and shooting, even making moves off his pivot foot to get defenders guessing where he would go.

Babe Ruth Calls His Shot

During the 1932 World Series Babe Ruth was up to bat for the New York Yankees. He had a count of 1-2 and with one more strike he would be out. Ruth then pointed toward centerfield calling his shot, and on the next pitch he smacked the ball out of the park, leaving the fans in utter shock.
