String Ensemble
- 6/7s-9/10s (Virtual): Thursday, 5:00 PM – 5:45 PM
Bank Street’s Supplemental Music Program offers students an opportunity to engage in a creative pursuit while building skills and performing at several events throughout the year. Our program includes school ensembles and private lessons, which students participate in for the full school year. Registration is available below through Campium.
School ensembles include Rock Band, String Ensemble, and Wind Ensemble. School ensembles are an extension of the School for Children music program and are available at no additional cost to families. Participation in ensembles requires proficiency in an instrument, such as guitar, drums, or cello. As of now, we are not planning any in-person ensemble performances for our community, but we will provide a number of opportunities for students to share their work. Ensembles require a minimum of five students enrolled in order to run.

Private lessons are offered for a wide variety of instruments. Students who play the violin or cello may learn together in a Level I class, depending on enrollment. Families pay a tuition fee for 30 half-hour lessons over the course of the school year. Families who are receiving Financial Aid at the School for Children in 2021-22 are eligible for an award for music lessons and do not need to apply for Financial Aid separately. Please email auxprograms@bankstreet.edu for financial aid details, including award amounts and how to apply them during registration.
