Event Title:
An Evening with Michael Thompson: Raising Boys (and Girls) in a Complex Time

Description:

Michael Thompson, Ph.D., New York Times bestselling author of “Raising Cain: Protecting the Emotional Life of Boys” will share his latest research and thinking about gender identity and the psycho-social development of children, especially in the context of independent schools.

In his work, Dr. Thompson delves into issues including the challenges in how we teach boys and girls in coeducational settings, the growing academic achievement gap between boys and girls, the lack of male role models in America, uninhibited aggression, emotional courage and building character, and what does it mean to be a successful contributor to society.

While always captivating and significant, Dr. Thompson’s insights are particularly relevant today, in the era of #MeToo and Kavanaugh.
