Register for an Open House

Discover how the School for Children helps children develop their academic, social, and emotional intelligence.

At Bank Street School for Children, attendance at an open house is an important step in the admissions process. We hold evening open houses—both in person and virtually—for parents of children who will be entering our Preschool (3/4s) through Seventh Grade (12/13s) programs. Those who attend an open house will have the opportunity to register for an in-person tour of the school at a later date. Families who submit an application will also receive an in-person tour.

Featured Event

In addition to our open houses, the Admissions Office is delighted to invite you to a discussion and book signing featuring Tovah Klein, renowned author, psychology professor, and Director of the Barnard College Center for Toddler Development, on Thursday, November 21 at 7:00 PM. This event is a wonderful opportunity to hear Dr. Klein share insights on nurturing resilience and supporting children through the joys and challenges of growing up. Registration is required.

What is Progressive Education?

At Bank Street, education begins in joy and wonder and encourages children to find meaning behind what they’re learning. Our students grow into creators, thinkers, and problem-solvers who are thoughtful, curious, and eager to learn. Read our “What is Progressive Education?” series to discover more about how the School for Children prepares thoughtful and productive citizens of tomorrow.
