Candice (she/her/hers) began teaching at Bank Street in 2017 as the wood shop teacher. Candice made her way to teaching through her decade-long experience as a fine furniture maker. She feels deeply connected to student life at Bank Street, from visiting and introducing woodshop to the lower school on the second floor, to teaching 6/7s all the way up through 13/14s, to facilitating affinity spaces, and coaching various sports. Candice centers social justice and racial equity in all her work with students, and she believes that with support and care students can access the light within themselves and shine so bright that they have a positive effect on the world.
