Anja Hernandez

6/7s Associate Teacher
Anja started working at Bank Street School for Children in 2022 as a Literacy Fellow. She started teaching in the 6/7s in 2023. Anja worked many years at The City College of New York developing hands-on curricula for teaching physical science & engineering in combination with art for underserved public elementary schools. She taught art, science, and engineering throughout the five boroughs and provided PD-workshops nationwide. Anja loves art, goes hiking with her 110lb Golden Retriever, and does cardio kickboxing. Of Bank Street, Anja says, “The many people working at Bank Street have inspired me and made me grow as a person. I am grateful for every single one of you! Bank Street keeps stimulating and challenging me. It makes me ask questions and think deeply every day”.
