Extended Day
Explore programs for children beyond the standard school day
Our Extended Day programs support families by providing opportunities for students to pursue creative, intellectual, physical, and social interests outside of standard school hours. Through hands-on activities that encourage self-expression, children widen their social horizons by working with peers from various age groups while cultivating community. Extended Day options include the following:
- Early Morning Care: Pre-K (4/5s) – Fourth Grade (9/10s)
- After School (Lower): Preschool (3/4s) – Fourth Grade (9/10s)

Early Morning Care
Early Morning Care (EMC) provides a warm, safe environment for students in pre-K (4/5s) through fourth grade (9/10s) before the school day begins. EMC runs Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM until school starts. Students participate in activities such as block building, board games, art, and more. Daily drop-ins are available.
Financial Aid is not available for EMC. Below is a snapshot of Fall 2025 pricing.

After School (Lower)
As part of our After School program, which runs from school dismissal until 6:00 PM, families have the option to enroll Lower School students in Kids Club activities, specialty enrichment classes, and/or music classes.
- Kids Club | Preschool (3/4s) – Fourth Grade (9/10s)
Kids Club runs Monday through Friday from school dismissal until 6:00 PM, with earlier pick-up times available. It includes snack, outdoor play on the play deck or roof, a daily special activity, and choice time in classrooms where students are grouped by age. Students also have the opportunity to work on their homework or read.
- Enrichment Classes | Preschool (3/4s) – Fourth Grade (9/10s)
Enrichment classes last 45 minutes. Activities include STEAM, fiber arts, dance, woodworking, clay, drama, tennis, and more.
- Music Classes | Second Grade (7/8s) – Eighth Grade (13/14s)
Small music classes of two to five students are offered. Options include violin, keyboard, guitar, and drums.
Schedule & Pricing for After School (Lower)
The specific price of Kids Club and specialty enrichment classes will vary depending on the class length, the age of the student, and the number of session days in the semester. Families must make a semester-long commitment to selected weekdays they would like their child(ren) to attend. Below is a snapshot of Fall 2025 pricing.

Financial Aid for After School (Lower)
After School tuition is priced in a way that is accessible for Bank Street families while allowing us to sustainably provide programming year after year. Students who receive a financial aid award for their School for Children tuition are automatically awarded financial aid for After School. The table below illustrates the After School financial aid structure. Please note that financial aid is applicable to all days of Kids Club and one enrichment class or music class per semester.

After School (Upper)
After School programming is available for all fifth grade (10/11s) through eighth grade (13/14s) students at no additional cost. The program includes Athletics, Homework Club, and Rock Band.
Athletics
Students in the Upper School can participate in a variety of sports throughout the year, including basketball, softball, volleyball, soccer, and running club. With a focus on inclusivity, our program welcomes all students—regardless of skill level—the chance to build athleticism, confidence, and teamwork in a supportive environment. Homework Club
All Upper School students are welcome to join Homework Club, where they can work quietly in a supervised space until 5:00 PM. A staff member is always present to provide oversight, but the program is not designed to serve as a tutoring service.
Rock Band
Rock Band welcomes Upper School students with a range of skills, but all participants should have some prior experience and familiarity with their instrument. This helps ensure that rehearsals focus on arranging music and developing each band’s unique sound rather than learning foundational skills. Students are encouraged to practice regularly at home, and for students with limited experience (less than two years playing their instrument or singing), additional lessons (private or group) are required. To help us best support each student and plan rehearsals, all Rock Band registrants complete a questionnaire about experience level and scheduling needs.
