Integrated Art

Children during Integrated Art periodWhen art is integrated into social studies, language arts, math, and science curricula, children are able to make personal connections to their classroom studies and deepen their learning. Integrated Art at Bank Street takes place once a week in each Middle School classroom. Lessons may be taught to the whole group or in half or quarter groupings depending on the nature of the materials and learning activities.

During the Integrated Art period, children may use materials to explore a theme or concept in greater depth or to investigate and appreciate the arts and crafts of the culture they are studying.
