• Can my child drop in to Kids Club or Our Place rather than registering for regular visits in a cycle?

To take advantage of this service, families must register their child on Campium for each Cycle and pay a once-per-cycle/child $20 processing fee to allow drop-in charges to be recorded and paid online. Families must also email their child’s classroom teachers and Joanna Sly at jsly@bankstreet.edu before dismissal on the day they wish their child to drop-in.

  • How much does it cost to drop in?

Students can drop in to Kids Club or Our Place for $16 per hour. To take advantage of this service, families must register their child on Campium each cycle and pay a once per cycle/per child $20 processing fee to allow drop-in charges to be recorded and paid online. Once registered, families can access and review their accounts and pay online at any time. Financial aid is not applied to drop-in charges.

  • What does it mean to register for Our Place or Kids Clubs on a regular basis?

Families who register for regular visits to Kids Club or Our Place for an entire semester receive a discounted price of $14 per hour. Unlike Drop Ins, registering as a regular visitor to either Kids Club or Our Place on a given day counts toward the 3 courses necessary to be eligible for Financial Aid. Please email our office and your teachers if your child will be absent on a given day. Our office does not offer refunds for days that regular visitors to Kids Club or Our Place are absent or leave early. If a child must opt out of a registered full cycle visit to KC or OP after the 2nd session in the Cycle, any visit made will be charged at our drop-in rate and will not be eligible for Financial Aid.

  • What time does my child's class end?

Specific courses, such as Woodworking and Chess, end at 4:30 PM Monday through Thursday and 2:30 PM on Fridays unless otherwise noted. Mohr’s Explorers runs longer than other courses and dismisses children in our lobby on Fridays at 3:30 PM. Kids Club and Our Place are open until 6:00 PM Monday through Friday.

  • Is childcare offered on early dismissal days or on days when school is closed for Report Writing or Parent Teacher Conferences?

We calculate the price for regular visits to Kids Club and Our Place by counting only the days that school is in session. On the days that school is closed for report writing and conferences, we do our best to support families by offering childcare that is separate from Kids Club and Our Place. Because the timing of these offerings is completely different, all children who attend on these days will be charged $16 per hour. Financial aid does not apply to these charges.

  • Can I register for After School even if my child doesn't attend Bank Street School for Children?

Absolutely! You are welcome to register for After School Classes on Campium. Please also call or email Joanna Sly at 212-875-4430 or jsly@bankstreet.edu to learn how to create or update your Magnus account with any current medical information and the required immunization forms. We must have this information before your child attends any After School class. Unless otherwise specified, After School classes begin shortly after school dismissal (around 3:10 PM on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays and 1:10 PM on Fridays). Consult our online calendar to make yourself aware of any differences in schedule between your child’s school and Bank Street.

  • Is bus transportation to and from Bank Street After School available?

Our After School program does not currently offer any sort of bus service. Outside families who register for After School courses are responsible for making their own transportation arrangements.

  • How do Bank Street students get to After School courses?

Classroom teachers bring children to designated After School classrooms/meeting places after dismissal at the end of the school day.

  • How do I pay?

Payment can be made online using Campium with a¬†credit card (Visa or Mastercard). Check payments should be sent to the After School Office, Room 205A, and should be made out to “Bank Street School for Children.” Once registered, families can access and review their accounts and pay online at any time. If you have any questions about how to navigate Campium, please call the After School office at 212-875-4430. We will be happy to walk you through it.

  • Do you offer Financial Aid?

Financial assistance is available for Bank Street students enrolled in three or more After School courses (not including music lessons or drop-in charges). Eligible families will receive an After School discount of 15 less percent than their School for Children Financial Aid award. For instance, a family receiving a 50 percent discount off of School for Children tuition will receive a 35 percent discount from eligible After School courses. Please email Joanna Sly at jsly@bankstreet.edu for more information.

  • Do you offer refunds?

To allow families to try a course and make sure it is the right fit for their child, fees are fully refundable if the course is dropped before the second session. Families will be liable for the full fee if they drop a course after the second session.

  • Where are you located?

The After School Office is located at Bank Street School for Children in Room 205A.
