2020-21

We’re here for your family.

At the Bank Street School for Children, we believe everyone–children and adults alike–learn in the context of meaningful relationships and through a thoughtful understanding of the world around them. In preparation for the 2020-21 school year, knowing the importance of in-person learning for our children, we developed a strong health and safety plan for full-day, in-person education five days a week, which we have been able to offer our students for the majority of the school year thus far. True to our commitment to equity, we have also invested in a robust, fully online program for children and families who cannot take the health risks of coming to our school building.

While running safe face-to-face programming is always a top priority, fluctuations in COVID-19 infection rates may warrant the need to transition to fully remote learning at times. We are in frequent communication with city officials, medical experts, administrators, teachers, and families to make decisions that protect the health and safety of our community, above all.

Bankstreet has been more than a school for my family. Bankstreet is HOME. Knowing that our children are safe, happy and part of an exceptional community that cares for and nourishes them not only as students, but as humans who will one day lead this world Into a brighter future is incomparable. There truly is magic brewing at 610 West 112th Street, and I am forever grateful to the educators, administrators and team members for their dedication to our children.

These past six months have truly been something, but we are incredibly grateful that Bank Street has been able to open in person this Fall with something akin to a regular school experience. We know getting the school year together under COVID circumstances was a tremendous undertaking and Bank Street’s efforts have already resulted in an enormous positive impact on these kids!
